A look around the league and the web that covers it. It’s also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren’t always listed in order of importance. That’s for you, dear reader, to figure out.
C: Sac Bee. Looks like Barack Obama wasn’t the only baller pulling in votes last night.
PF: Hoops Addict. Opening Night, JaVale McGee and butterflies.
SF: BullsLive. Is Andres Nocioni the new Hines Ward of the NBA? Or is he just a big ol’ teddy bear?
SG: The Sporting Blog. Shoals: "Iverson’s never been just a basketball player. He’s a cultural icon …"
PG: Denver Stiffs. No more excuses for George Karl and Carmelo.
6th: Puck Daddy. Shaquille O’Neal, New Jersey Devils fan. Big New jersey Devils fan.
7th: Dime. Austin Burton suggests it’s time for the NBA All-Star ballot to get a makeover. I concur.
8th: Frye. Channing adds Saw V to his list of all-time worst movies, along with Wicker Man and Wall-E.
9th: ESPN The Magazine. Bill Simmons hates being wrong. Except when it’s about Greg Oden.
10th: From Deep. Michael Grange: "So a basketball player in the White House. It’s about time. I personally would feel more comfortable voting for a basketball player than, say, a football player. I enjoy football, but there’s a little too much ‘my way or the highway’ rhetoric over there. Power-tripping coaches; a fairly rigid class system, based on position; a little too much reverence for Sundays. [...] But basketball? International, forward-looking, modern. A respect for individual flights of brilliance but an acknowledgement that they need to fit within a team concept in order for them be really effective. Room for everyone to shine."
